I've always been pretty supportive of Oprah. She tries her best to do good things for people, and that's admirable. The only thing that's a little creepy about it is the maniacal devotion she gets from her audience. Exhibit A: This clip of a hysterical studio audience after Oprah announces that she's not giving away some free stuff. It was the mere mention of free stuff that set them off. | |

When you think of it objectively, we pretty much work to buy things that make us appear to be cool. Sure, there's stuff like rent and food, but even the homes we keep and the foods we consume need to have a cool factor. We've all had our suspicions that George W. Bush is a puppet for the current administration. It's not even that much of a stretch, especially when you consider that Ronald Reagan actually was an actor and it didn't seem to bother anyone. It's still, however, slightly unnerving to see Bush preparing to address the station much like Howie Mandel prepares to present Deal or No Deal? Just watch it and you'll see what I mean. | |
