Q: What happens if I cannot install my own Rogers Digital Box?
A: You can call Rogers Technical Support at 1 888 764-3771 for assistance.
Q: What is Rogers on Demand?
A: All Rogers digital customers have access to Rogers On Demand. Rogers On Demand is a service that lets you enjoy a movie or show of your choice whenever you want from the comfort of your own home. You will have access to over 3,000 shows and movies (including new releases) at the touch of a button.
Q: I use Microsoft Outlook Express or another email program for sending and receiving emails. What will happen to the emails in my inbox when I convert to Rogers Internet Service?
A: If you are collecting mail via POP3, your mail messages are stored on your computer and will remain on your computer after the move. After the move, you must set up your mail program to send and receive mail through Rogers mail servers.
If you are collecting mail via IMAP, your messages are currently stored on the ACI mail server. If you wish to keep these messages you must download them by setting your mail program to collect mail via POP3 and then checking for new mail. Your messages will be downloaded and will then reside on your computer and remain there until you delete them. After the move, you must set up your mail program to send and receive mail through the Rogers servers. Note that Rogers does not support IMAP, only POP3.
If you plan to use Rogers Webmail after the move, your messages will not be
automatically transferred to the webmail server. Following the move, you must
forward your email messages to yourself so they appear in the Rogers Webmail
inbox.
NOTE: Be sure not to check for mail in your old mail program after you've forwarded your messages, otherwise they will be downloaded from the Rogers server to your computer and will no longer appear in your Webmail inbox. Also keep in mind that if you use IMAP to collect your mail you must first set your mail program to collect mail via POP3 to download the messages to your computer as described in the paragraph above.

If you require ACI mail server settings to download webmail to your local computer before setting up your Rogers mail, use the following:
POP3: mailbox.aci.on.ca
SMTP: smtp-out.aci.on.ca
Q: I use Microsoft Outlook Express or another email program. What will happen to my address book when I convert to Rogers Internet Service?
A: If you intend to continue using Outlook Express your address book will not change and will still be accessible after the change.
If you intend to use Rogers Webmail, you must manually transfer the addresses in your current address book to the Webmail service.
Q: I use ACI webmail for sending and receiving emails. What will happen to my emails once I convert to Rogers Internet Service?
A: Your email messages will not be automatically transferred to the Rogers Webmail servers. If you wish to retain your messages, you must follow the steps below:
Prior to your change date:
1. Install and set up a mail program such as Outlook Express to collect mail from the ACI mail servers using POP3.
2. Check for new mail in your newly installed mail program. This will download all of your messages to your computer.
After the change date:
1. If you intend to continue using the mail program you installed, you will need to set up the program to send and receive mail through the Rogers mail servers. To learn how to do this, click here.
2. If you intend to use Rogers Webmail, you must forward each message to yourself following the change, after which it will appear in your Webmail inbox.
NOTE: Be sure not to check for mail in your mail program after you've forwarded your messages, otherwise they will be downloaded from the Rogers server to your computer and will no longer appear in your Webmail inbox.
Q: I use ACI Webmail. What will happen to my address book when I convert to Rogers Internet Service?
A: There is no simple way to transfer addresses between webmail services, or from ACI Webmail to a mail program like Outlook Express. If you wish to change your address book, you must manually transfer each address to your new mail program, or to Rogers Webmail.
Q: What should my settings be in MS Outlook Express, Windows Mail (Vista) or another email program so my service will work with Rogers Mail?
A: If you are using a program other than Outlook Express, or if you wish to set up Outlook Express manually, please click here.
If you want to set up Outlook Express automatically, please click here.
Q: What will happen to my webpage that is hosted by ACI?
A: Rogers does not offer web hosting with residential Internet services. After the change date, your website will no longer be hosted on the ACI web servers and will no longer be available at its current address. There are, however, a number of options available to you listed below. Note that Rogers does not specifically recommend any of these services. They have been provided for your convenience:
Freehostia
The Chocolate plan at Freehostia is a full featured hosting plan that is 100% free of charge. It includes many features found only on paid plans including 250MB of disc space, 6GB of traffic per month, the option to host up to 5 domains and over 40 available scripts to install. Best of all, it's completely ad-free! They also offer paid plans starting at a mere $2.95 per month, and domain registration is available for $9.95 per year.
Awardspace
Another excellent free hosting service, The Easy Starter plan at Awardspace offers similar features to Freehostia, including 200MB of disc space, 5GB of traffic per month, 5 email addresses, MySQL capability and the option to create your own scripts using PHP, Perl or CGI. If the Easy Starter plan is not enough, paid plans start at $3.99 per month.
Freewebs
If you're not familiar with HTML development and want a simple, template-based hosting service, it's hard to beat Freewebs. Freewebs offers over 300 professional looking, ready-to-use templates, photo sharing, video capability and blogging, the only caveat being that your site will show banner ads. Upgrading to their reasonably priced paid plans will solve that ad problem if you're looking for an ad-free service. Their starter package is available for $49.95 per year.
NOTE: If you plan to change your website to another hosting service, be sure to download it from the ACI servers prior to your change date!
Q: What will happen to my newsgroup service?
A: Rogers does not offer newsgroup service as part of its Internet packages. If you would like to subscribe to a newsgroup service, the industry leader is Giganews. They offer the highest completion rate, the longest retention time, and a variety of packages starting as low as $2.99USD/month for 3GB of transfer, to $12.99/month for 35GB of transfer, and all the way up to unlimited transfer for $24.99/month.
Q: I did not pre-order my Rogers services before the cut-off date and my services are no longer working. What do I need to do?
A: If you didn't pre-order your Rogers services before your change date, you must call 1-866-210-7918 so that we can begin transfering your services. Please
note that should this happen, you will be without service until you call in.
Q: What is an usage allowance and how does it affect me?
A: Each of the Rogers Hi-Speed Internet services have a monthly usage allowance allotted in Gigabytes. Usage is measured by the amount of content transferred to and from your computer when it's online. For more information, visit rogers.com/keepingpace
Q: How do I set up email forwarding from my old ACI address to my new Rogers address?
A: To set up email forwarding, follow the steps below:
1. In your web browser, go to https://my.aci.on.ca/newuser/forward.py
2. In the Login field, enter your ACI email user name (the portion before the @ sign.)
3. In the Password field, enter the password for your ACI email account.
4. In the Forward To field, enter your full Rogers email address including "@rogers.com".

Q. What is the difference between Cablephone and the Rogers Home Phone service?
A. Rogers Home Phone service runs through a Rogers managed, dedicated network and is not a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service.
Q. Will I still need to use a phone router or terminal?
A. Yes. Rogers Home Phone service requires that a Home Phone Terminal be installed in your home. The Terminal must be installed by a technician and can't be moved once it is installed.
Q. What will happen to my remote Cablephone terminals (cablephone routers)?
A. Since this is not a service that Rogers provides, arrangements will have to be made to switch the service to another VoIP provider.
Q. Can I keep my phone number?
A. Yes, if it is a local Oak Ridges or Aurora number. Any other numbers (including foreign exchange numbers) must be transferred to another VoIP carrier or be disconnected.
Q. What will happen to my foreign exchange numbers?
A. They must be transferred to another VoIP carrier if you wish to keep the service. They will be disconnected from the ACI network on your move date.
Q. What new features are available with Rogers Home Phone?
A. There are many features available. Click here for more information.
Q. What additional features are included with Rogers Home Phone?
A: Rogers offers many features for you to choose from and your subcription includes one feature of your choice at no additional charge.
